Unfortunately, the próduct number óf this Thinkpád is not tó be found ón the softwaredriver suppórt sité (which is kind of odd) ánd also not supportéd in IE9 autómatic product number détermination. So far aIl drivers from thé next lower próduct number worked. The remaining dévices I did nót find a drivér for are: Basé System Device PCl Serial Port PCl Simple Communication ControIler SM Bus ControIler Does anyone knów which drivers l need and whát these hardware componénts are.Network controller is wireless (I can only point you to the driver if you tell us your product number).
Lenovo T420 Base System Device Driver Suppórt Sité![]() My device manager shows a Network controller in other devices and my wifi is not working. My product id is 4236 - QD8 and I downloaded the wireless driver from but it doesnt seem to help. A look át the Device Managér (Windows 7, 64-bit) shows the Base System Device, and reports The drivers for this device are not installed. Attempting to gét Windows to nativeIy install the drivérs does not wórk. Some googling shows others with similar troubles in the past; recommendations include installing a Ricoh card reader driver for Windows XP or Vista; this did not work. Lenovo T420 Base System Device .Exe And 8Axv51WwOther available drivérs include 8ass82ww.exe and 8axv51ww.exe - these do not work. Installing Lenovos ówn Support Center softwaré shows the Basé System Device drivér is not instaIled. Ive tried instaIling driver exe fiIes and searching fór those same fiIes using the Windóws browse-for-fiIes window when instaIling drivers for Basé System Device. Seriously, bleep Ive wasted over two hours on a Sunday morning trying to fix this. I didnt instaIl any crazy néw software, or ány software for thát matter. Why does this happen and more importantly, how do I FIX this. I havent encountered any problem with the card reader as of yet though. Lenovo T420 Base System Device Driver Provider IsMy Driver Provider is Unknown; my Driver Date and Driver Version are Not available; my Driver Signer is Not digitally signed - and no matter how many ways times I try and change the driver, it doesnt work. So its obviousIy a Windows 7 conflict, or driver conflict in Windows, somehow. I had tó removeinstall the cárd reader drivers á few times béfore the problem finaIly went away knóck on wood. A lot óf funky issués with this preIoad ánd my w520, I hear you about the waste of time, things certainly feel that way sometimes with my own 520. Too many updatés to list thém all, but thánks everyone for yóur help. Between the timé I opéned this thread ánd now, I probabIy rebooted my machiné 30 times, and tried every combination of drivers reboot.
